  • Pastorette Lynette D. Davis

Pastorette Lynette D. Davis is a native of Washington, D.C. and has been active in church since a very young age.  Her home church is Corinthian Baptist Church, and it was at this church that the spirit of the Lord grew within her, and she thanks God for the inspiration and growth He has given to her.

Pastorette Davis was called by God to preach in 1995.  She began to fast and pray as she stood still making sure of her calling.  She preached her initial sermon from Matthews 26:19-25, 46-50, and 56 titled, “Mr. Big Stuff, Who Do You Think You Are?”

Without hesitation she gives great honor unto the Lord for allowing her the strength and ability to preach God’s word and to bring souls to Christ.  Her smile and kindness makes you feel good and comforts you and it is evident that she operates in the spirit of God.

Pastorette Davis is a woman of many talents.  Not only does she have a calling from God to preach, but also she strengthened this calling by going to school to get a master’s degree in Divinity and Theological Studies and a Ph.D. in Pastoral Ministry.  In addition, she completed courses in accounting and cosmetology.  She is also passionate about dancing and singing, which gives her the strength to assist dance ministries and youth choirs at local churches.

Her personal theme comes from Psalm 34: “I will bless the Lord at all times, his praises shall continually be in my mouth.”

Pastorette Davis is a powerful woman of God, but she is not alone in her spiritual journey.  She walks her path with a powerful man of God by her side, Pastor Rodney L. Davis, Sr. who will proudly proclaim from the pulpit, that Pastorette is the bone of his bone, flesh of his flesh and his favorite cheerleader in the ministry.  God blessed their union and they are the proud parents of two children, Manicia and Rodney, Jr.  In 2003, they founded their own church and appropriately named it Unity Temple Baptist Church.

At the end of October 2006, Trueway Baptist Church and Unity Temple Baptist Church officially merged as one church and the members voted to change its name to True Unity Baptist Church.

Pastor Davis revamped the church structure and appointed Pastorette Lynette Davis as the Co-Pastor of this union.   Pastor Davis and Pastorette Davis have a vision to take the members of True Unity to higher levels in their relationship with God, and they hope to empower spiritual growth in the community.
